Grandma's House - luxury suite of the Cottages of La Honda ParkAbout the La Honda Cottages

Barr and Jenny Pederson purchased the 6 acre park with over 1,200 feet of Angels Creek frontage in 1997 from the Butler/Hoover family. Since then they have been restoring the cottages and grounds to provide a genuine gold country setting for your enjoyment.

During your stay you are encouraged to wander the grounds and enjoy the many unique sites and amenities of the property. The miner's trail from Angels Camp to Murphy's is still visible on the east hillside. During the Gold Rush there was a stage coach station on the property and the creek was an accessible and common spot for travelers to water their horses.

Ripplewood - luxury suite of the Cottages of La Honda ParkThe "weir" at the upper lawn was the original "swimming hole" built in October, 1945. At that time the property was a camp offering sites with fire pits and 10 cent showers. In 1961 the pool was built and the main house was a restaurant and bar with a small general store for visitors basic supplies. The property has seen several winter floods one as recently as December 2005.
