ABOUT

ABOUT

As you walk around beautiful La Honda Park, you’ll hear the sounds from our creek at every point and...immediately start to relax. What you do next is up to you! Gather in the Main House or outside on the lawn and take in the natural beauty of California Gold Country. Hit the restored old Bar(n) as it's filled with games, wet bar, music, TV’s and wood stove - a perfect place to meet up and relax. The lovely pool and adjacent full kitchen, picnic area and many treasures about the property are sure to delight you!

What was once a stagecoach stop and a camp for weary miners during the Gold Rush is now La Honda Park, a beautiful park complete with well-appointed cozy cabins, a main house, and all the modern-day accoutrements you can imagine. Onsite bocce ball, a pool table, a large swimming pool, a horseshoe pit, fire pit, arbored picnic areas, wifi, and several full kitchens onsite make La Honda Park an amazing place to host a relaxing family event, a couples weekend getaway or a corporate retreat.

We at La Honda Park aim to provide you a genuine Gold Country setting, but with all the creature comforts of today’s world. With over 1,200 feet of Angels Creek frontage, there is no shortage of places to explore and enjoy the natural beauty. The miner’s trail from Angels Camp to Murphys is still visible on the east hillside. During the Gold Rush, the creek was an accessible and common spot for travelers to water their horses.

The “weir” at the upper lawn was the original “swimming hole” built in October 1945. At that time the property was a camp offering sites with fire pits and 10 cent showers. In 1961 the pool was built and the main house was a restaurant and bar with a small general store. Wander the grounds and enjoy the many unique sites and amenities of the property’s rich history.

Spend a few days at La Honda Park and you'll already be talking about your next visit.

STAY WITH US

La Honda Park offers five unique cottages and a large Main House to make your stay enjoyable. The property is most often booked as a "compound" - that's what the regulars call it! -  giving you total privacy across six acres, 5000 sqft, eight bedrooms, eight and half bathrooms, with exclusive use of the large pool, great lawn, bocce, outdoor dining and creekside barn.

In the non-peak season (roughly November thru April), we offer more flexible booking.  See below for more details.

"the Compound" at La Honda Park

In a nod to the Pederson family who restored the park to its original state over nearly two decades, when you book a stay at La Honda Park you're booking "the compound" which is what they called it for their family and friends for many, many years.

Families have been coming back to La Honda Park annually for reunions for more than a decade. Whether it's a family reunion, a girls or guys weekend, a couples getaway or a corporate retreat La Honda Park is perfect for groups of all sizes.

When you book the compound, you get nearly 6 acres of privacy, 5000 sq ft of living space, 8 bedrooms, 8.5 baths, 1000ft+ of creekside viewing, exclusive use of the large pool and creekside barn. A unique, gold country experience just two hours from the Bay Area.

Main House +
Welcome House North & South

During the offseason, the park can be rented by smaller groups in two distinct arrangements. The Main House + Welcome Houses surround the large lawn area and are adjacent to the creek and pool.

Pool House, Pool Kitchen, Grandmas, + Ripplewood Cottages

During the offseason, the park can be rented by smaller groups in two distinct arrangements. The Pool House, with Pool Kitchen, Grandmas and Ripplewood Cottages surround the pool and and are adjacent to the barn and weir.

RAVE REVIEWS

This has been the perfect place for our family with the separate cottages for the elder couples & the big house for us 2nd generation. The lawn made the perfect baseball field for some friendly competition & the pool allowed for some nice relaxing, cool-off time from the heat. Hope that we can manage to return here someday with the others we are missing. — Amber G.
